Code of Conduct:“Treat others how you wish to be treated”

Negative attitudes and disrespect are not acceptable from anyone (cheerleaders, coaches or parents).  Everyone has a bad day at times, but our organization is a dynamic positive place where you can get away from negativity.  Please leave your problems at the home. There is no room for personal conflicts.

  • NO Gossip about other teams, kids, coaches, other parents or BDCD staff.
  • NEVER post any negative comments on public forums about any athlete, team, staff or the BDCD program (names used or not). We have the right to remove you from the team.  BE RESPECTFUL, do you want someone posting about you?
  • If you have a social media page you may be monitored and are required to uphold these expectations. NO pictures and/or reference to alcohol and drugs including pictures and/or references to being intoxicated, planning to partake in illegal activity, wearing excessively revealing clothing,or content consisting of sexual or aggressive behavior. No foul, vulgar or profane language or inappropriate conversations.
  • No one is allowed to post or share videos, pictures of BDCD routines or music on social media sites.
  • Black Diamonds Cheer & Dance has a ZERO tolerance policy on drugs and alcohol; use by participants is grounds for immediate dismissal.
  • Team members wearing their uniform or any item with team identification must always conduct themselves in a positive, polite manner.
  • Whether at events, competitions or practices we cheer everyone on, yes even those we are competing against!
  • When at events be careful what you are saying, you never know who maybe next to you hearing this.
  • Please do not coach your child from the sideline or at HOME, this is how injuries happen and bad habits are learned. It takes the staff longer to break these bad habits.
  • You are welcome to attend events and competitions as a spectator, not extra coaches.

Disciplinary Action

  • Every reasonable attempt will be made to avoid situations likely to lead to removal from a team, but when necessary written notice will be given.
  • A  cheerleader  may  be  suspended  from  events  for  the  following  reasons:  3  unexcused  absences,  9 or more tardies (3 tardies equals 1 absence), athlete or parent failure to cooperate with coaches, and failure to abide by BDCD rules and expectations.
  • Anyone threatening to“pull their child”or“quit”will be dismissed from the program immediately, and will still beheld responsible for account balance and separation fees.

Communication

Our primary source of communication is email updates from the Black Diamonds Cheer & Dance website; therefore, EVERY family must have at least one active email and check it on a regular basis-daily if able.  It is the parent’s responsibility to know what is going on by checking emails regularly and websites for updated information.Text messaging is also great for last minute info.

  • All questions, concerns,or ideas you may have need to be addressed with coaches BEFORE or AFTER practices only as to not take team time away for the kids. Coaches will not be allowed to chat with parents during practice times.
  • If unsure of anything please ask for clarification, never assume.  If it is your first year competing it can be overwhelming don’t be afraid to ask questions.
  • Team parents will help with communicating information between the BDCD Director, your child’s coach, other team parents, and all parents for the team they represent.
  • If for some reason you are unhappy with a decision of BDCD staff or judging at a competition, please talk to your child’s coach respectfully.  Negative talk among each other or with your child is not tolerated.
